Russia is preparing to celebrate the occasion of the merger of four parts of Ukraine with Russia like a special day. Russia’s national media is presenting the event to be held today (30 September) as a celebration of the receipt of the referendum.

President Putin will give a special speech on this occasion. For this, billboards and a large video screen have been put up in Moscow’s Red Square. Many roads will remain closed during this time. A special show has also been prepared, which will be shown after the signing of the agreement.

Russian soldiersReason for possession

The biggest reason for Ukraine to stay in the war for so long is the weapons and economic support of America and Western countries. Russia has been opposed to Western support for Ukraine from the beginning.

Now by joining 4 parts of Ukraine, Russia wants to send a message to the Western countries that it is difficult to stop. By doing this Russia will be able to claim that Ukraine is attacking its territory and Western countries can also be targeted. Russia similarly annexed Crimea in 2014, which was opposed by Western countries. Even after this, Crimea is still occupied by Russia.

In 2008, after fighting a short war with Georgia, Russia recognized two separate Georgia territories, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as independent states. Russia also funded a lot of these two territories. After this, the people here were given Russian citizenship and the youth were inducted into the Russian army.
In 2014, Crimea was annexed by Russia following a referendum. At that time also Putin gave a speech.

Luhansk-Donetsk important for Russia

Now the question arises that why the occupation of these four parts is important for Russia. The joining of these 4 parts to Russia would mean the economic destruction of Ukraine. After joining Russia, Luhansk-Donetsk would become a means of weakening US influence in Central Asia. Both provinces will also be Putin’s weapons against NATO.

This part is also strategically important for Russia as it is only 200 km away from Crimea.

Energy is supplied to Europe from Zaporizhia. In such a situation, Ukraine will have to face difficulties in generating revenue after the Russian occupation. Due to this the economy of Ukraine will be in danger.

Zaporizhia is Europe’s nuclear power hub. Here is the largest nuclear plant in Europe. By including this part in Russia, Putin can make his country the largest nuclear power in the world.

Russia wants to capture the ports of the Black Sea. This port is not only strategically important, as well as the trade route connecting the Mediterranean Sea also passes through here. Therefore, it is necessary to control them even for business.

Kherson is a leading Ship Manufacturer. Merchant Ships, Tankers, Container Ships, Icebreakers and Architect Supply Ships are made here. Russia can increase its maritime power by including this part in Russia.

Kherson is a major port located near the Black Sea. It is very close to the Russian border. Its geographical location has been strategically important for Russia since its annexation of Crimea in 2014. After including this part in Russia, Russia can build a bridge connecting Moscow with Donetsk in Donbas and Crimea with Luhansk.

Ukraine and Western countries have strongly objected to this annexation in the name of a referendum and condemned it. Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock alleged that people were threatened by entering homes and offices for referendums. This referendum has been received at gunpoint, which is contrary to free and fair elections. Russia has only created unrest.

On this, Russia said – We conducted the referendum for five days (23 September – 27 September). Based on the support received in this, we are bringing Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson of Ukraine into our country. Voting has been done legally for this.

Ukraine has threatened retaliation, ignoring the Kremlin’s announcements. Ukraine’s military has said that it will free its North-East regions from Russian occupation in the coming days. The Ukrainian army has talked about the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk.
