SECURITY COUNCIL LIVE: Ambassadors look for diplomatic way forward in Gaza and Ukraine



The UN Secretary-General told the Security Council on Tuesday that growing recognition for Palestine has created new political momentum in favour of a two-State solution, while Gaza’s “day after” must be anchored in international law, rejecting any “ethnic cleansing” by Israel. At 4pm, ambassadors debate the Ukraine war where action by the preeminent peace and security body has – like Gaza – been thwarted by vetoes.
