Newport woman’s rare kidney cancer found after Butlin’s injury

Charlotte Morjario had no idea how her life was about to change when she went on a girls’ holiday with her two best friends.

The mother-of-one was having a “fantastic” time letting off steam at holiday resort Butlin’s, when a drunken game led to her hurting her rib.

Still in pain on her return home to Newport, she headed to A&E, only for doctors to tell her they’d found a 7cm cancerous tumour on her kidney and she would need to have urgent surgery.

“The conversation was a strange one, because I thought I was fine,” she said.
