India-Pakistan talk needs Terror and hostility-free environment: MEA

India on Thursday gave a blunt reply to the Neighbouring country Pakistan, making it clear that if it wants to hold talks with India, an environment free of terrorism and hostility is necessary for it. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is facing an economic crisis, had recently once again expressed his desire to hold talks with India.

In the weekly press conference of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday, spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that we have seen the reports. India’s stand has been that we want friendly relations with all countries…but for this, an environment free of terror and hostility has to be created.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif had expressed his desire to hold talks with India. Addressing the opening ceremony of the Mineral Summit in Islamabad, he said that he was ready to talk with neighbours for nation-building. America had appealed to the people for peace regarding the violence in Haryana’s Nuh. The statement of the Ministry of External Affairs also came out regarding this comment. Arindam Bagchi said,
