\u201cAs part of these efforts, the UN and its partners offload more essential supplies at crossings around Gaza every day,\u201d it\u00a0said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Monday, humanitarians offloaded\u00a0nearly 4,000\u00a0pallets of aid at two border crossings \u2013\u00a0Kerem Shalom\/Karem Abu Salem in the southern Strip\u00a0and Zikim in the north.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Food,\u00a0water\u00a0and other supplies<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Around 65 per cent of the pallets\u00a0contained\u00a0food supplies, while 12 per cent carried shelter items. Another 12 per cent were water,\u00a0sanitation\u00a0and hygiene items, and\u00a07\u00a0per cent\u00a0comprised\u00a0health and nutrition supplies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0UN\u00a0also\u00a0attempted\u00a0to coordinate five humanitarian movements with the Israeli authorities\u00a0on Tuesday. While three were\u00a0facilitated, one was initially approved but never received clearance to\u00a0proceed, and another was cancelled by the\u00a0organisers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result, teams could redeploy staff and carry out some of the planned collection of food and health supplies from Kerem Shalom crossing, alongside other missions in areas where coordination with the Israeli authorities was not required,\u201d OCHA said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Winter kits for children<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n

On the education front, partners\u00a0distributed\u00a0more than 2,000 winterization\u00a0kits to children aged 12 to 14 years, as well as deploying and distributing 58 specialized tents across 16 learning\u00a0centres.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The move aims to expand classroom space and is expected to accommodate\u00a0nearly 25,000\u00a0children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other partners working in\u00a0mine action\u00a0continue inspecting key areas for potential explosive hazards. In this regard, two\u00a0assessments\u00a0were\u00a0to support the removal of rubble in Deir al Balah and Gaza city\u00a0were\u00a0carried out on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

West Bank: Farming families\u00a0need support<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, more than 72,000 families in the West Bank who\u00a0grow crops\u00a0or raise\u00a0animals\u00a0require\u00a0urgent emergency\u00a0assistance, according to a survey by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u00a0finds that\u00a0around\u00a090 per cent of agricultural families have recently lost income,\u00a0mainly\u00a0due to sharp declines in both crop and livestock production as well as sales.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FAO stressed that supporting farmers and herders in the West Bank is critical to produce food, sustain livestock and avert a deeper crisis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAgricultural families urgently need\u00a0assistance\u00a0\u2013 both cash and in-kind \u2013 to mitigate the impacts of widespread settler violence, a deepening economic crisis and near-ubiquitous loss of income,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Rein Paulsen, Director of FAO\u2019s Office of Emergencies and Resilience.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Conflict, rising costs and other challenges<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Agriculture\u00a0remains\u00a0a vital lifeline\u00a0in the West Bank. Of the approximately 700,000 families\u00a0there,\u00a0around\u00a0115,000 depend on agriculture for their livelihoods,\u00a0highlighting the sector\u2019s importance to\u00a0food security and income.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Data in Emergencies (DIEM) survey\u00a0also reveals\u00a0the mounting pressures facing\u00a0agricultural\u00a0families.\u00a0Nearly\u00a09\u00a0in\u00a010,\u00a0or about 100,000 households,\u00a0have recently experienced at least one acute \u201cshock\u201d\u00a0such as conflict and violence, rising living costs, and job loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other challenges they face include\u00a0limited access to water, movement restrictions and land access constraints,\u00a0as well as\u00a0high fuel and transport costs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The survey\u00a0was conducted between July and August,\u00a0marking the\u00a0second\u00a0time\u00a0it\u00a0was carried out this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
