Amber and yellow heat health alerts have been issued for all of England, from 12:00 BST on Monday until 18:00 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The amber alerts are for London, the South East, East of England, East Midlands and West Midlands. The yellow alerts are for Yorkshire and the Humber, the South West, North East and North West.<\/p>\n

The alerts warn the public when high temperatures pose a potential risk to health. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

How does the weather health alert system work?<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

The weather alert service warns the public in England when high or low temperatures could damage their health.<\/p>\n

The system is run by the UK Health Security Agency and the Met Office.<\/p>\n

It includes both heat health and cold health alerts<\/p>\n

Heat health alerts are issued between 1 June and 30 September, and cold health alerts are published between 1 November and 30 March. <\/p>\n

As well as warning the public, the system sends guidance directly to NHS England, the government and healthcare professionals during periods of adverse weather.<\/p>\n

Alerts are categorised according to severity and include:<\/p>\n
