{"id":44767,"date":"2024-09-19T19:44:31","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T19:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gulftimes.ae\/hezbollah-chief-says-israel-crossed-all-red-lines-with-attacks\/"},"modified":"2024-09-19T19:44:31","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T19:44:31","slug":"hezbollah-chief-says-israel-crossed-all-red-lines-with-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gulftimes.ae\/?p=44767","title":{"rendered":"Hezbollah chief says Israel crossed &#8216;all red lines&#8217; with attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">On Thursday morning, Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon fired two anti-tank missiles across the border, followed by drones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said two Israeli soldiers were killed and a third seriously wounded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The latest exchanges come at a time when Israel says its military focus has shifted away from Gaza to the situation in the north.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The IDF said on Thursday that its chief of staff, Lt Gen Herzi Halevi, had \u201crecently completed approval of plans for the northern arena\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Later, at a meeting of military and intelligence chiefs, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said: \u201cIn the new phase of the war there are significant opportunities but also significant risks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">\u201cHezbollah feels that it is being persecuted and the sequence of military actions will continue,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">\u201cOur goal is to ensure the safe return of Israel\u2019s northern communities to their homes. As time goes by, Hezbollah will pay an increasing price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It is not clear how Israel intends to achieve this goal.
