According to a report, at a speed of 4000 kilometres per hour, this supersonic aircraft will travel thousands of kilometres in a few minutes. The speed of this aircraft is three times more than the speed of sound. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 170 passengers.

As The US Sun reports, the supersonic aircraft with a width of 168 feet and a length of 328 feet has a speed of 4,001 km/h or three times the speed of sound. This means that if you have to cover a distance of 5,570 km to reach London from New York, then the flight will reach the destination in less than one and a half hours. Prior to this the Boeing 777 usually takes 8 hours to travel. This aircraft has a capacity of 170 passengers.

Supersonic flights can travel faster than the speed of sound. However, there are many challenges in operating these super jets. In addition to safety and cost, supersonic flight causes tremendous environmental pollution. Also, these flights require a lot of jet fuel. Also, the engines inside the cabin make a lot of noise.

Furthermore, the most frequent challenge of supersonic flight is the problem of the sonic boom. A sonic boom is a loud, explosive sound produced by an aircraft’s shock wave when the aircraft’s speed is faster than the sound. Large supersonic aircraft can produce loud, shocking sonic booms that can disturb sleeping people and cause damage to nearby buildings. This is why regular supersonic flight paths are restricted over water.

In October 2003, a supersonic-like Concorde plane crashed. More than 100 passengers died in this accident. Subsequently, due to rising maintenance costs and declining demand, the Concorde ceased to fly.

Several companies still have plans to build supersonic aircraft in the near future. In June last year, global airline United Airlines signed an agreement to launch the Boom supersonic by 2029. Virgin Galactic has announced a plan to partner with Rolls-Royce.
