Emaar appoints beachfront project contractor

The project involves construction of a 68-storey residential tower in Dubai Harbour

Dubai-based real estate developer Emaar Properties has appointed local contracting firm Al Basti & Muktha as the main contractor to build its Address The Bay project in Emaar beachfront, Dubai Harbour.

The project covers the construction of a 68-storey residential tower featuring 452 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments.

Local piling firm Dutch Foundation is undertaking the project’s enabling works..

Dubai-based Mirage Leisure & Development is the project consultant and Godwin Austen Johnson is the architectural consultant. Another local firm Al Hadatha Engineering Consultants is the architect of record.

Bilt Middle East will carry out the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works.

The contract award follows Emaar’s appointment of local contractor Metac General Contracting Company to build its Fairway villa community in Dubai South.

Emaar has been ramping up its real estate portfolio in Dubai.

This is in line with GlobalData’s forecast, which expects the UAE construction sector’s output to grow by 4% in real terms in 2024 and 4.2% in 2025, supported by developments in infrastructure, energy and utilities, and residential construction projects.

Earlier in March, Emaar appointed Seoul-headquartered Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Company to build its Creek Waters development at Dubai Creek Waters.

Emaar also plans to launch 27 projects worth over AED30bn ($8bn) in the UAE by June this year.

The pipeline includes seven project launches in March and April, valued at AED14.4bn combined, five projects worth AED4bn in May, and eight launches valued at AED11.5bn in June.

These projects will be launched at Emaar’s existing developments, including Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai Creek Harbour, Emaar South, Emaar Beachfront, Port Rashid, The Oasis, The Valley and Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island.

The developer has a pipeline of 75 projects in 2024 worth approximately AED75bn ($20bn).
