DUBAI: The US embassy in Lebanon said on Thursday it supported the Lebanese government in asserting sovereignty and its enforcement by the country’s army. Posting on X, the embassy said it supported ensuring decisions regarding war and peace remained exclusively in the hands of the state. “Every day, the Lebanese people make it clear they prefer Lebanese state institutions over Hezbollah’s weapons. Southern Lebanon does not belong to regional actors or militias,” it said.
