What we know about reported strike on Iran wedding celebrations

Iran has launched missile and drone attacks at US targets across the Middle East, after American forces resumed strikes against Iran.

The Iranian Red Crescent said four people – including a child – were killed at wedding celebrations when a US missile hit a building in southern Iran.

BBC Verify has analysed footage released of the aftermath of the strike and spoken to a weapons expert to identify munition remnants.

The US military says it is aware of the reports but that it never targets civilians, and was striking Iranian targets in response to “recent attempted attacks” on American forces and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Merlyn Thomas reports.
