DUBAI: Portuguese model and actress Sara Sampaio looked radiant as she stepped onto the red carpet at the Fashion Trust US Awards 2026 wearing a creation from Lebanese Italian fashion designer Tony Ward.
The gown was defined by a strapless corseted bodice and sculptural draping in a soft blue tone, revealing a “controlled interplay of lines and draped movement.
“Subtle cut-outs at the waist introduce a sense of tension, while the draped panel extends into a gentle train, enhancing the natural flow of the design,” read a statement by the label.
“On Sara, the look unfolds with an expression rooted in the spirit of Entre Reve et Regard, it reflects a dialogue between dream and presence, where sharp construction and fluid gestures come together to shape a bold yet timeless vision of Couture.”
Fashion Trust US, the nonprofit dedicated to supporting US-based design talent, this week revealed its 2026 winners at its fourth annual awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
The awards recognized achievements across ready-to-wear, jewelry, accessories, graduate design and sustainability. Tory Burch was named Designer of the Year, while Michèle Lamy received the Lifetime Achievement Award. A special innovation prize, created in partnership with Type One Ventures, was also presented.
The event drew a mix of fashion and entertainment figures, including Dove Cameron, Julia Fox, Natasha Lyonne, James Franco, Mindy Kaling, Coco Jones and Becky G. Presenters included Pamela Anderson, Olivia Wilde, Jodie Turner-Smith and Melissa McCarthy.
According to a report by Women’s Wear Daily, Anderson introduced Burch, describing her as “creative, courageous, inspiring” and “a visionary designer and fearless advocate for women.” The pair met through their sons, she said, adding that she wore Tory Burch to the Met Gala last year, where the designer created a silver gown that made her feel “like a warrior, brave, confident and powerful.”
In her acceptance speech, Burch reflected on the importance of individuality and creative conviction, telling designers: “Fashion is an industry that constantly asks you to explain yourself … If I could offer one piece of advice, I would say to nurture your point of view, respect it and let it grow and evolve, and build the thing only you can build.”
Winners will receive grants and ongoing mentorship through Fashion Trust US and Google, continuing the organization’s mission to support designers both creatively and commercially.
