massive avalanche hit base camp of Camel Manaslu, search operation continues


A massive avalanche has hit the base camp in Mount Manaslu, Nepal. Last week too, two climbers were killed after being hit by an avalanche. There were 12 injured.

Missing American climber Hillary Nelson was found dead on Wednesday. The incident happened when an avalanche hit the road just below Camp IV. Apart from this, Sherpa climbers of Seven Summit Treks, Satori Adventure, Imagine Nepal Treks, Elite Expedition and 8K Expedition were also injured.

Rescue and search operations were carried out in the area by helicopter after a severe avalanche hit Mount Manaslu last week. However, due to bad weather, problems are also faced in the rescue operation. Base camps are set up for the climbers who are climbing Everest, which has been completely destroyed after being hit by an avalanche.

Till Friday, the Nepal government had allowed 506 climbers from 58 different teams to climb. However, due to snowfall, the roads were completely damaged and many new roads also got snow, which increased the slippery significantly.

Five people in the Imagine Nepal Treks team were hit by the avalanche, while the condition of two remained critical. Three members of the Satori Adventures team were injured and one is in critical condition. from a severe avalanche

Indian climber Baljit Kaur and her guide also sustained serious injuries, though both are safe.
