Israeli hostage family’s fight ‘not over’ one year on

On 7 October, it will be one year since the attacks on southern Israel by Hamas gunmen, where around 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were taken hostage.

Hadas Kalderon from Nir Oz survived the attack but her mother and niece were murdered.

Her two youngest children were kidnapped along with their father and taken to Gaza.

Her children came home last November but their father, her ex-husband, is still held captive.

She’s been speaking to the BBC about her continuing fight, one year on.

Since the start of the war nearly 42,000 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health authority.
