Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) has tendered two separate contracts for the development of an overarching supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) system and a disaster recovery data centre facility.
MEED understands the Scada system will monitor and secure a total of 267 pump stations, 53 sewage, wastewater and package treatment plants and 194 regulated flow monitoring points in Abu Dhabi.
The scope works for the Scada system includes the construction of a new command and control centre building in addition to the Scada hardware and software.
The package will also entail security systems for electronic, information and operational technologies; communication systems; programmable logic controllers; cabling and human-machine interface systems in addition to field instrumentation devices.
ADSSC expects to receive bids for the Scada system, tender O-15042, by 10 October.
The disaster recovery data centre package, tender O-15212.1, is an infrastructure that is designed to recover and restore ADSSC’s digital infrastructure and digital operations when its primary data centre becomes unavailable.
ADSSC expects to receive bids for the planned disaster recovery data centre by 3 October.
ADSSC has recently launched the procurement process for several other packages to boost its operations.
It is expected to complete the prequalification process by end-September for the contract to design and build a treated sewage effluent (TSE) polishing plant in Al-Wathba.
More than 20 companies have submitted their statement of qualifications (SoQ) for the contract, according to a source close to the project.
It is understood local and European engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors are among those who submitted an SoQ.
The TSE facility is expected to produce water for higher-end applications compared to TSE produced in a standard sewage treatment plant, as MEED reported.
The TSE polishing facility is likely to have a design capacity of 700,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d), with the potential to expand this capacity to 950,000 cm/d in a subsequent phase.
ADSSC has also tendered two contracts for various wastewater network works in Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain.
Bids are due on 27 September for the first contract, which entails construction works for wastewater connections in Al-Ain.
The second package is for the rehabilitation and development of wastewater stations in Abu Dhabi. Bids are due for this contract by 4 October.
