Mount Everest climbing historic recollection of joys and tragedies

Austrian mountaineer Habeler Habeler, who climbed Mt.  Everest Without oxygen, is still physically able to reach the top of the mountain. He prefers to call this ability of his a ‘source of youth’. He has passed 89 springs of life, but he has not stopped climbing mountains.

Habeler and his Italian friend, Reinhold Meissner, attempted to climb Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, without oxygen. When they reached the summit of Mount Everest, Habeler told AFP at his residence in western Austria that he was filled with joy, some sadness and fear.

Habeler, who has entered his ninth decade of life, has continued to climb mountains. He prefers to call mountains and hills friends. He says that he has gained more valuable experience than a piece of diamond from climbing the mountains. He is worried that climate change has created a big problem. Whether it is the Alps mountain range of his native land or the mountains of other continents melting due to rising temperatures, he is concerned.

Habeler, an activist for sustainable tourism, started working as a mountain guide. His son is still running the ski school he founded in his native Meerhofen. He wanted to show that nothing is impossible if he tries with determination, perseverance and hard work and to open doors of opportunity for others.

He spent time in his native place for a few years after climbing Mount Everest, but his desire to climb mountains above 8000 meters did not leave him. He took his steps to the top of the highest mountain, but he was not accompanied by his friend Meissner, who had climbed Mt.

Messner, now 78, has become the first person to climb the world’s 14 highest peaks. That is, he has set a record by successfully climbing all mountains higher than eight thousand meters. Habeler believes that anything can be done together with Messner. Habeler has expressed his gratitude for the help he gave to overcome his fear and fill courage on the summit of Everest.

Arohi Messner praised him in his latest book on his friend Hebler. He has portrayed Hebler as a person who can easily climb mountains in any part of the world in any situation. At the age of seventy-four, Haebler also set the record for the oldest mountaineer by successfully climbing the northern Mohda of the Eiger mountain in Switzerland. He climbed the mountain with his predecessor, David Lama. The lama was only 26 years old at that time.

A llama died in an avalanche in Canada’s Banff National Park. Saddened by the death of Lama, Hebler’s eyes are still filled with tears. Arohi Lama lost his life in an accident which made him more aware. However, he continued to climb the mountain.

He walks towards the mountains with little equipment and materials and very little external support.  He says that he always has only the basic materials needed for mountain climbing. He does not like to carry heavy things in his bag.

Although his parents were not mountaineers, Hebler is proud that he managed to reach the roof of the world without oxygen. He attributes his success to mountain climbing trails and others. He has presented an example that excellent results can be achieved with the help of others.
